Junior Girl Scouts discover the basics of garden design as they learn how to plan for a successful garden! Each Girl Scout will plant and decorate a miniature container garden to take home with them. This program is designed to support the Juniors Gardener Badge. Denver Botanic Gardens does not supply activity badges.
Program Format: Girl Scout Exploration Days offer girl scout troops the opportunity to explore plant-based themes through a variety of hands-on activities and take-home projects. Each Exploration Day offers several activity stations for groups to explore. Group leaders are provided with materials and instructions needed to guide their group through each activity station.
Program Location: Depending on the time of year and weather, activity stations and explorations may take place indoors or outdoors. Your group should be prepared to spend time both indoors and outdoors. Depending on the size and interests of your group, the program will take about 2 hours to complete. Program registration includes admission the Gardens, your group is welcome to stay and explore the Gardens on your own after the program.
